RS Metrics data on outlet malls shows declines in traffic, but “not a bloodbath”
Research from RS Metrics, a company in Manhattan that tracks satellite data of shopping mall parking lots, suggests growth has stalled for outlet malls nationwide. In 2015 their parking lots were on average 34.5% full.
They dipped to 31.5% full in 2016, and for the past 12 months have averaged around 32%.
“It’s not a bloodbath,” RS Metrics partner Mike Gantcher said. “But it’s certainly not their heyday.”
