Maneesh Sagar, Chairman & CEO
Maneesh is a serial entrepreneur, VC, and coach. He is also the founder of Thynk Ventures, an early stage VC, investing in AI, IoT, machine learning, and process automation. He has an MBA from Columbia Business School, and a BA in Economics (Magna Cum Laude) from Ohio Wesleyan University, where he was a Presidential Scholar.
He has a history of investing in, and scaling up disruptive startups. He was the Co-Founder of NeuVis (acq by IBM-Rational) where he raised over $80 million and grew the company to over 350 employees. At Huntington House, he created the first online sustainable development marketplace. At MondoWindow, he setup the worlds first browser based moving map #IFE company, and at Sirl.io, he made retail searchable.
He was Managing Director at Connecticut Innovations, where he invested in mobile, enterprise software, marketing automation, and IOT. Investments and advisory roles include Frevvo, Keisense (acq by Nuance), NetKey (acq by NCR), ROI (acq by Revionics), Premise (acq by Eclipsys), SilverSky (acq by BAE Systems) ShopText (acq by Anomaly), HigherOne (NYSE) and SmartEquip.
Maneesh is an Innovation Fellow and a Founding Career Coach at Columbia Business School, where he teaches classes on startups, venture capital, conductsindustry panels, advises students and alumni one-on-one, and leads global trips. He also advises the Lang Entrepreneurial Center, W. Edward Deming Center and judges the Columbia Venture Competition.
Tom Diamond, President
Tom is President of Remote Sensing Metrics, with a focus on business development and strategic alliances.
Tom’s brings his extensive experience as a strategic advisor to corporate managers and institutional investors, operational experience, and background in engineering and product development, provide a deep understanding of how technology and data-driven analysis can benefit business decision-making.
Prior to RS Metrics, Tom was a Director with Stax, Inc., a corporate and investor strategy consulting firm, where he led and managed relationships for eight years with major corporations, leveraged buyout firms and their portfolio companies, and hedge fund clients. His work often revolved around quantifying and forecasting behaviors of customers and markets to support major decisions for growth strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and public equities trading. Previously, Tom was co-founder of Fulcrum Systems, an enterprise software company using massive data sets for design and ongoing optimization of complex corporate telecommunication networks, where he served as Vice President of Marketing. Fulcrum was acquired in 2003 by a telecom carrier-focused channel partner looking to expand its offering to enterprise clients. Tom began his career as a design engineer for mobile communications devices, and holds a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Arj Wignaraja, Managing Director – Asia
As Managing Director for RS Metrics Asia, Arj is responsible for analysis and synthesis of remote sensing data, company specific data, and macroeconomic data that form the core of our subscription and custom event-based products. Arj also leads day-to-day management and skills development of our data analyst teams, quality control, and technology and systems architecture and operations.
Before RS Metrics, Arj was a Managing Director with Stax, Inc., a corporate and investor strategy consulting firm, where as head of the Colombo, Sri Lanka office, he led oversight of all output, quality control, and integration with U.S. operations, as well as leading a wide range of client projects and managing select client relationships. Formerly, Arj was with The Boston Consulting Group, where he helped formulate business strategies for Fortune 500 clients in financial services and industrial goods. Arj has an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a BA in Economics, with honors, from Princeton University.
Rashmi Bomiriya, PhD, Chief Data Scientist
As Chief Data Scientist for RS Metrics Asia, Rashmi is responsible for designing and developing analytical products that combines internal and external data to generate actionable insights, conducting research and machine learning experiments, advising the development team on how to structure the data etc. She utilizes her expertise in development languages such as R, Python, prototyping and visualization tools such as RShiny and database technologies to quickly turn ideas into easy-to-use products to show business value and get traction from potential clients. Rashmi also leads day-to-day management and skills development of our data scientists and junior statisticians.
Rashmi holds a PhD in Statistics from the Pennsylvania State University and a BSc Special Degree in Statistics, with honors and the gold medal for the best student in Statistics, from University of Colombo. Prior to pursuing her PhD, Rashmi was an Associate Vice President at Amba Research Lanka (Pvt) Ltd (Now Moody’s Analytics, Knowledge Services), a financial services provider for Wall Street clients, where she implemented portfolio optimization algorithms, change detection algorithms, generated automated research reports etc, in addition to training and managing a group of quantitative analysts. Among other things, she also served as an online instructor for graduate level Statistics courses for Penn State World Campus for several years. Currently, she is also a member of the Board of Management for Center for Data Science, University of Colombo.
Vishal Thiruvedula, Head of Product
Vishal is the Head of Product at RS Metrics. Prior to joining RS Metrics, he was a Lead Analyst with the Commodities Research team at Refinitiv based in London. He joined Refinitiv in December of 2015 and oversaw both dry bulk and freight analysis. Prior to Refinitiv he worked at Castleton Commodities International and Barclays. Vishal graduated with a Masters in Energy, Trade and Finance from Cass Business School, University of London.
Nilosha Pereira, Senior Manager – Operations
As Senior Manager – Operations for RS Metrics Asia, Nilosha Pereira is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, managing deliverables, participating in product design and implementation processes, handling custom projects, and overseeing our team of analysts skill development. Nilosha holds an MBA from London Metropolitan University and a BSc in IT from the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT).
Richard Anfang, Senior Adviser – United States
Richard Anfang is a technology executive with over 30 years of experience working in global financial service organizations. He has held senior management positions as a business-aligned Chief Information Officer, managed enterprise technology infrastructure, and partnered closely with C-level executives. Anfang has an extensive track record delivering innovative technology solutions to solve business problems within the financial services sector.
Most recently, he worked at JPMorgan Chase where he was Chief Architect of the firm’s Global Technology Infrastructure organization. From 2013 to early 2014, he was the Chief Information Officer of JPMorgan’s Asset Management business. He was responsible for the business’ strategic leadership of technology, overseeing over 3,000 technologists globally spanning the firm’s global Investment Management and Private Bank businesses. From 2008 to 2012, he was the Chief Information Officer of JPMorgan’s Worldwide Securities Services business.
Prior to joining JPMorgan, he spent over 24 years at Morgan Stanley. During that time, he held a number of senior Information Technology positions including Chief Technology Officer of the Prime Brokerage business, global head of the firm’s Enterprise Infrastructure group, head of Equity and Fixed Income Sales & Trading applications development, and Chief Information Officer of Morgan Stanley’s UK and European businesses.
Anfang has an extensive track record of delivering innovative solutions and solving business problems in the financial services industry. He has served on the advisory board of several technology service providers and has participated in numerous industry forums and committees.
He holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania (1983) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Michigan (1981).
Mitchel Ingham-Barrow, Senior Adviser – Europe
Mitchel brings more than 25 years of experience in the metals industry with positions at Metal Bulletin, Fastmarkets, and Thomson Reuters. As the first electronic sales executive at Metal Bulletin, he was responsible for the creation of their web presence and ultimately became their Head of Online Strategy, Development, and Sales. After 11 years at Metal Bulletin, he joined Fastmarkets as Sales Director when it was still a small web-based disruptor. Mitchel then joined Thomson Reuters as Global Head of Metals and Mining, where among other responsibilities, he helped launch their new research business. He also spent three years in Asia. Prior to coming to RS Metrics, he help create their complete supply-chain risk proposition.
Martin Kremenstein, Senior Adviser – United States
Martin is a recognized ETF industry expert who brings two decades of financial markets experience to RS Metrics where he will help launch financial products. His experience includes thirteen years in the ETF industry where he focused on designing and building ETF franchises at large institutions. Most recently, Martin spearheaded the entrance of Nuveen into the ETF market with a platform centered around ‘three pillars’ of income, responsible investing, and alternatives/real assets. Martin brought Nuveen’s platform to market within a year of joining the firm in late 2015. Shortly thereafter, Nuveen’s ETF business won “New ETF Issuer of the Year” in the 2016 ETF.com Awards.
Prior to Nuveen, Martin worked at Deutsche Bank where he led his team in designing and launching what is now the DWS X-Trackers US ETF business. As of his 2015 departure from Deutsche Bank, their ETF business was $17.5bn in AUM and the 10th largest ETF issuer in the US. Additionally, he worked on their PowerShares DB platform, which was sold to Invesco in early 2015. At its peak, the PowerShares DB managed $16bn in currency and commodity strategies.
