Tom Diamond, President & CEO
Tom Diamond is President and co-founder of Remote Sensing Metrics, with day-to-day management and operational control over all aspects of RS Metrics’ business, including driving product direction and development, strategic alliances, and scaling the sales, marketing and support organizations.
Tom’s extensive experience as a strategic advisor to corporate managers and institutional investors, operational experience, and background in engineering and product development, provide a deep understanding of how technology and data-driven analysis can benefit business decision-making.
Prior to RS Metrics, Tom was a Director with Stax, Inc., a corporate and investor strategy consulting firm, where he led and managed relationships for eight years with major corporations, leveraged buyout firms and their portfolio companies, and hedge fund clients. His work often revolved around quantifying and forecasting behaviors of customers and markets to support major decisions for growth strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and public equities trading. Previously, Tom was co-founder of Fulcrum Systems, an enterprise software company using massive data sets for design and ongoing optimization of complex corporate telecommunication networks, where he served as Vice President of Marketing. Fulcrum was acquired in 2003 by a telecom carrier-focused channel partner looking to expand its offering to enterprise clients. Tom began his career as a design engineer for mobile communications devices, and holds a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Alex Diamond, Vice President, Products
Alex Diamond brings extensive geospatial experience to the Remote Sensing Metrics team as Vice President of Products, with responsibility for product technical feasibility studies, product specifications, client technical inquiries and services, and sourcing data and managing relationships with all of RS Metrics’ data acquisition partners.
Prior to co-founding RS Metrics, Alex was a Senior Product Manager at satellite imagery owner and operator DigitalGlobe, Inc. where he developed products and services for global commercial distribution partners, including Google Earth, and focused on end-market solutions for the oil & gas exploration and mining industries and municipal clients. Alex holds a Bachelors Degree in Geography from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Michael Gantcher, Chief Business Officer
Mike Gantcher runs sales at Remote Sensing Metrics. His responsibilities include, among other things, product sales and development and strategic alliances.
Mike’s extensive experience working on Wall Street in various capacities of institutional equity sales and management brings to RS Metrics a deep understanding of the different thinking and needs of different investors, and a robust network and access to money managers and key decision makers.
Prior to RS Metrics, Mike was a Managing Director with Madison Williams and Co., a boutique investment bank focused on Energy and Healthcare companies where he was the Head of Equities. Previously, Mike was Head of Institutional Equity Sales at Oppenheimer and Co for five years. Other positions held include running Investor Relations and Marketing for Zimmer Lucas Partners, an energy focused hedge fund based in New York, and Institutional Equity Sales roles at Lehman Brothers and CIBC Oppenheimer. Prior to Wall Street, Mike worked for in Real Estate for The Related Companies.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies from Hobart and William Smith Colleges, where he served on the Board of Trustees for 10 years. He has also served on the Board of The Doe Fund, Inc., a Non Profit Organization that helps NYC homeless men reclaim their lives through job training, for over 10 years, including six years as chairman. Mike is currently the Chairman of the NYC Host Family Committee of The Fresh Air Fund, a not-for-profit agency that has provided free summer experiences in the country to more than 1.7 million New York City children from low-income communities since 1877.
Robert Conklin, Director of Sales
Robert Conklin assists in running sales at Remote Sensing Metrics. His responsibilities include, among other things, product sales, strategic alliances, and new business development with asset managers and retail companies.
Robert has a wide-range of sales experience in a few different industries. Prior to RS Metrics, he was an institutional salesman for a boutique broker/dealer, DeMatteo Monness, covering a number of accounts and growing many new relationships in the asset management world. Previously, He was National Sales Manager for a manufacturing start-up for over 11 years.
Robert’s extensive experience in a sales role has allowed him to create relationships with a substantial number of professional investors and a diverse group of key decision makers in multiple industries. Robert has a gift for generating new relationships and creating client confidence.
Robert holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Trinity College.
Arj Wignaraja, Managing Director, RS Metrics Asia
As Managing Director for RS Metrics Asia, Arj is responsible for analysis and synthesis of remote sensing data, company specific data, and macroeconomic data that form the core of our subscription and custom event-based products. Arj also leads day-to-day management and skills development of our data analyst teams, quality control, and technology and systems architecture and operations.
Before co-founding RS Metrics, Arj was a Managing Director with Stax, Inc., a corporate and investor strategy consulting firm, where as head of the Colombo, Sri Lanka office, he led oversight of all output, quality control, and integration with U.S. operations, as well as leading a wide range of client projects and managing select client relationships. Formerly, Arj was with The Boston Consulting Group, where he helped formulate business strategies for Fortune 500 clients in financial services and industrial goods. Arj has an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a BA in Economics, with honors, from Princeton University.
Rashmi Bomiriya, PhD, Chief Data Scientist
As Chief Data Scientist for RS Metrics Asia, Rashmi is responsible for designing and developing analytical products that combines internal and external data to generate actionable insights, conducting research and machine learning experiments, advising the development team on how to structure the data etc. She utilizes her expertise in development languages such as R, Python, prototyping and visualization tools such as RShiny and database technologies to quickly turn ideas into easy-to-use products to show business value and get traction from potential clients. Rashmi also leads day-to-day management and skills development of our data scientists and junior statisticians.
Rashmi holds a PhD in Statistics from the Pennsylvania State University and a BSc Special Degree in Statistics, with honors and the gold medal for the best student in Statistics, from University of Colombo. Prior to pursuing her PhD, Rashmi was an Associate Vice President at Amba Research Lanka (Pvt) Ltd (Now Moody’s Analytics, Knowledge Services), a financial services provider for Wall Street clients, where she implemented portfolio optimization algorithms, change detection algorithms, generated automated research reports etc, in addition to training and managing a group of quantitative analysts. Among other things, she also served as an online instructor for graduate level Statistics courses for Penn State World Campus for several years. Currently, she is also a member of the Board of Management for Center for Data Science, University of Colombo.
